America part II

These little centerpieces are so cute!

The red glass jar on the left I found at Joann's and I antiqued the flags and added some cute retro pipe cleaners springing out of it. Just kind of unique and fun!

The larger piece in the center is so funky! I really don't know what it is. I picked it up at a flea market in the fall and wasn't sure what I was going to do with it. It wasn't until last night I thought about putting flags in it! It really is so fun, it stands about 12 inches high. I hand dyed the ribbon and the flags.

The Hershey Park can shouts patriotism! My friend found me a whole bunch of vintage repo cans and containers. I really hate to sell it but it goes so cute with this set!

America

I love the summer, and miraculously enough I am loving this summer here. I am trying to finish up a few projects today but until then check out the cute decor here at traditions.

I also love these ideas on the Country Living website. I love Country Living. In fact that reminds me my subscription finally ran out! I need to renew.

I just happened upon this website it looks fun for you and has some fun for the kids!

On a different note. I took Corm to Toy Story 3 the other day and ended up crying throughout the whole thing. I loved it, but the whole leaving for college thing hit a little too close to home.

*Tips for enjoying your summer at home with the kids*

Try to keep a schedule even if it is a schedule of lounging and playing. I have found my kids do better when they have some sort of schedule to follow.

Even though it is summer and you want to enjoy every moment (because movies like Toy Story 3 come out and rip your heart in two and make you realize how fast time really does fly)if you need a break take the time to hire a sitter and give yourself a break. Lunch out, a pedi or try my method of going to the movies alone. But allow yourself time outs now and then.

I will add more tips when I happen upon them. I have taught a class on summer activities with your children. Leave me a comment if you want a copy of my notes and ideas. Not to toot my own horn but it is a pretty good class.

Love to you~ Mamie
