Merry Christmas.....Just Thought I'd Share

I choose not to decorate in full this year.

I took many short cuts.






But I think it turned out Ok, considering.

The screen in the background is new this year. I am not sure what I am planning on doing with it. But is is so rickety and old, I just love it!

Ry did my Nativity this year.

I'm A Psycho....2010 Holiday Movies!

Well, well, well.....I can almost see it. The light at the end of a very long tunnel. Mamie's is wrapped up and I am enjoying the thrills of giving and receiving. I delivered my friend and neighbor gifts this evening. Feels good to check that off. This year I purchased home-made soap from my mother and packaged them up cute like. It was different and smelled wonderful. She makes incredible soap. I love using it, if you are interested in getting any please leave me a comment. She would love to hook you up with some. I am not just saying this because she is my Momma. It is divine.

I am behind this year, as I mentioned a few posts back but it is all working out ok. We have a surprise coming up, I can't wait to tell you about it and how it all played out. I hope it just brings more joy and love to Christmas.

Ok- Christmas movie must sees. Here is my list. Keep in mind I am very, very behind.

1- Harry Potter-fell asleep the first time. Need to see it in the day time otherwise I struggle.

2-The Kings Speech. Yes, it is R, but I love the royals and Colin Firth what can I say. Besides it is about Victoria's Grandson, Queen Elizabeth's father. (I think this is right)

3-True Grit- I don't know why this is #3 but I really do want to see this. I love Jeff Bridges, if you end up seeing it. Let me know what ya think, will ya?

4-Country Strong- I liked Gwyenth on Glee, I think she will be very good. This will probably be the one movie I end up seeing.

5- I just can't help it, I am a Focker fan. Too funny. Hope it is not stupid.

Holiday Update!

I am going to be at Salon Spectrum tonight! It is located at 7103 Stetson Drive in Scottsdale. I believe the times for this boutique are 5-9, I am excited! I have new bracelets and some really fun vintage items that are new! Lurve me some vintage!

I am winding down for the holidays! If you would like anything, especially bracelets please let me know. I do have plenty of supplies and am getting more in everyday but now is the time to order so I can get them to you in time for the big day!

I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving! Ours was unique this year, yummy food, different circumstances as we were prepping for the wedding of my niece the very next day! It was a crazy week!

Mamie's

I could just tell you that little kids pronounce my name "Amie" like "Mamie". That's really all there is to it. It has stuck throughout my life. But that would be to easy.

My niece Samantha started it. She is 26 now, but when she was 2, her momma would walk into the room and say. "Samantha Jo, who made this big mess?" and Samantha would just look up at her mom and say "Mamie did it, Mamie, Mamie, Mamie".

I was around 18 at the time and would proceed to argue with the 2 year old that it was not me. Which it really wasn't, but it was really funny.

Years later my friends little girl Juliana thought I was the bees knees. She loved me so much and I loved her. She would snuggle up to me and ever so sweetly ask me, "Mamie, would you paint my tingernails". How could I ever refuse that? I couldn't.

By now, most of my friends children and some of my friends call me Mamie. I love it, it's stuck for good.


So it just made sense to me to name my beloved business after this treasured name. Mamie. You know what? I think my grandchildren will probably call me Mamie. I think it's cute and rather appropriate.

I feel like this little guy.

Mom asked me the other day how I was doing it all. I just shrugged and thought "it hasn't been that bad."

Then suddenly this morning I have begun to realize I haven't been doing. For the first time in a long time, I am not ready for Christmas. Like for reals. Really....not.....ready.

This seems to be a problem. Hmmmmmm. Well, it's gonna be a good one, just maybe in a different way this year. Nothing wrong with that.
